The Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage encourages excellence in the study of Massage Therapy. With small class sizes, our emphasis is on individual achievement in a friendly, collegial atmosphere. Through practical experience and seminar-type instruction from accessible, dedicated instructors, graduates are fully prepared to enter the profession of massage therapy. Courses are adapted to present any new trends in massage therapy.
Our business courses give graduates the expertise and the advantage to compete in the market place. Graduates are taught specific skills and provided with resources to enable them to succeed in the entrepreneurial business of massage therapy. We prepare massage therapists by giving them experience in:
- Hospital settings
- Holistic health centers and spas
- Rehabilation centers such as physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics
- Entrepreneurial skills
- Corporate services
- Sports medicine clinics
A Personal and Professional Development component is integral to the curriculum of the foundation and subsequent year. Exposure to a variety of self care and stress management disciplines in a non-competitive environment affords an unparalleled breadth of learning. The study of therapeutic touch, yoga, stretching, and nutrition have been representative of the scope of this development. Ethical case studies and clinical interactions will be examined, as well as specialized issues in areas of care of the aged, palliative care, and psychology as they apply to the Massage Therapist as caregiver. Integrative modalities may also be examined by second year students.
Our goal is to provide a healthful
